President Dave will lead members and friends on an up to 10 mile walk from Pitsea to Southend. The walk will be split into 3 sections and walkers can do 1, 2 or all 3 sections. Pitsea Station to Benfleet StationMeet at Pitsea Station at 10am. Walk is mainly on fields with some track walking. Stout trainers recommended or walking shoes. A rural walk with views. Bring water for along this stretch. 3.2miles. Benfleet Station to Leigh StationMeet at Benfleet Station at 12am. Walk is mainly on tracks and good paths. Stout trainers recommended. Mainly walking in Hadleigh Country Park with good views of Thames Estuary and Kent, walking past the London 2012 Olympic Mountain Bike Circuit and Hadleigh Castle. Bring a snack and drink for a break along this stretch, 3.8miles. Leigh Station to Southend PierMeet in Leigh at 2pm. We will stop for a drink and some food in Leigh. You can finish the walk here and take a train back to your start. Those walking on take the Cinder Path and Southend Prom to the Pier where we will choose what to do, perhaps, partaking in fish and chips or a Rossi icecream. Will then take the train from Southend Central Station back to your start station. Any footwear will be suitable for this section. 3.3miles GeneralThe timings are approximate as they will depend on walking speed and how long we spend eating and drinking! We will park at a station car park or nearby and will then mainly follow the new King Charles III England Coast Path. The route passes stations on the C2C railway line where people can drop out or join us and take the train back to your starting station. Dave will do the whole walk. If you prefer a 3-4mile walk just choose one section. If you prefer a medium sized walk I would suggest doing Pitsea to Leigh for interest and finishing with lunch in Leigh. If you prefer a less challenging medium walk then Benfleet to Southend would probably most suit. This is purely a fun activity, no charge is made and no sponsorship is expected. Members can register themselves and guests using the on-line option after logging in. Or let Dave know you wish to take part and which section you plan to do. |

Clause 2 - Special General Meeting Special general meetings of the club, of which at least fourteen days written notice shall have been given, shall be held in each year before the following dates: a) At such time between 1st July and 15th November as shall satisfy the annually notified requirements of the district council for the purpose of nominating elected members of the district council for the ensuing year and proposing for submission to the district council for selection as district governor a Rotarian from the district. b) Prior to 15th July selecting candidates for nomination to the offices of Chair-Nominee and Honorary Treasurer of the Association. c) 1st January for the purposes of: (i) receiving and approving the examined annual accounts for the year ended 30th June. (ii) electing by ballot of the members the president for the next year but one (iii) electing the vice-presidents, secretary and treasurer for the next Rotary Year. (iv) electing one voting delegate (and substitute) to vote at the ensuing Annual Conference of the Association, and one additional delegate (and substitute) for every 25 or major fraction thereof of its active members. |
