After a heartwarming presentation held at The Orsett Hall Hotel, International Services Chair, Raj Mohile handed over a cheque for £750 to a representative of Operation Smile, an organisation renowned for providing life-changing cleft surgery and comprehensive care to children worldwide. The funds were raised through a series of community-driven events, including the club's signature Charity Golf Day and local fundraising initiatives.
"We're honoured to support Operation Smile’s incredible mission," said President Andrew. "Every smile we help restore is a symbol of hope, and it's thanks to the generosity of our community that we can make a tangible difference."
Operation Smile UK representative Chloe Woolford expressed deep gratitude: "This donation will directly fund surgical missions and post-operative care for five children in need. The support from the Rotary Club of Grays Thurrock helps us continue to reach those who might otherwise never receive the treatment they deserve."
This partnership highlights the Rotary’s ethos of Service Above Self and demonstrates the remarkable things that happen when local compassion meets global need.
