Welcome to the 65th Tripartite Gathering
The Rotary Club of Grays Thurrock was delighted to host the 65th Tripartite of the Rotary Clubs of Iserlohn, Voorschoten‑Leidschendam and Grays Thurrock, and extended a very warm welcome to everyone who attended.
The weekend was held from 15 to 17 May 2026 but many of our guests stayed in the UK for longer and visited London.
A Year of Global Challenges
Since we last met in Voorschoten‑Leidschendam, the world had continued to face uncertainty — from climate‑related disasters to ongoing armed conflicts and global instability driven by superpower actions. In such a climate, Rotarians were reminded of the importance of Rotary’s Fourth Object: the advancement of international understanding, goodwill and peace.
Despite these challenges, the friendship between our three clubs remained as strong as it was 65 years ago when the first Tripartite gathering took place.
The 2026 Programme
Our Tripartite Committee put together an enjoyable programme of activities, including:
- The traditional Golf Day, Reception, and House Parties
- A Saturday excursion from Orsett to Leeds Castle, the former Royal Palace
– Guided tours
– A historical talk
– Walks through the grounds and gardens
– A buffet lunch in the Maidens Tower - The Dinner & Dance at Orsett Golf Club, featuring entertainment from some of the young people we supported
- The whole weekend was rounded off by a Brunch at Orsett Hall on the Sunday morning
Speaches from our fellow Presidents showed what a fantastic time they had all had and we are all welcome to Iserlohn for our next Tripartite weekend in 2027.
A Weekend of Fellowship
The programme offered plenty of opportunities to socialise, share experiences and enjoy each other’s company. We encouraged everyone to participate, relax and enjoy the Tripartite.
